[CLUG] Re: Intersocs

I forgot to say in the last mail that the Engineering Society in
question is UCC's. The CIT while lovely, is too far out of the way, and
does not have the historical (And perhaps incorrect) educational aura
about it, and its grounds.

Lets do ourselves a favour, if we want to impress people, holding the
day in a college that looks like it was designed by the chief Lego
engineers is not going to do it. Also the new IT buildings in te CIT
are extremly sparse an uncomfortable compared to those in the basement
of the Boole.

For those that are assuming that I am a UCC student, I actually studied
at the CIT. Im embarassed to show people the College when they are
visiting me, lets not embarass ourselves. We have a chance to have a
strong push forward on the whole Cork Linux movement. The NT Debate was
the first part. Cork BIC are interested in promoting the Linux Ireland
Awareness day, and Im sure we can get more advertising done. Dont
forget that Ruari Roddy of the Examiner will give us a banner ad on the
site, The Irish Times will promote the day, PCLive will lend a hand
amongst many others.

Pride in a paticular institution would be a weakness here if we chose to
exploit it.
