Subject: [ILUG] Straw Poll of Linux "Users"
To: ilug at linux.ie, clug at linux.ie
I'm speaking at LAID on Saturday, and it would be really helpful to
me
if I could just get a rough idea of the amount of non-technical
Linux
users who are out there. Please could you mail me (off-list if you
prefer) if you are, or know of, anyone who uses Linux as part of
their
work *and* has no technical knowledge of the system - a pure 'User'
in
other words. Please mail me if you consider yourself a Linux 'User'
and not a Linux 'Developer'. I'm looking for people who (for
example)
wouldn't know what to do with the command-line, work entirely in
GUI
etc etc. Granted, such people are probably not members of these
lists,
but if you know of such users, please let me know. I'm not
interested
in contacting any of them, I just want a (very approximate) idea of
numbers.
Thanks for your time,
Ian Swainson
PS. I have posted this to both the ILUG and the CLUG. My apologies
to
those on both lists who get this twice...
