Should have made it clear I suppose.
Everything about LAID is being sponsored by various companies or
organisations. PCPro are lending us a PC to install Linux on, the
engineering society in UCC is getting us the hall, and maybe some
refreshments, Indigo is paying for Alan Cox to come over, and maybe
covering the expenses of the speakers. I'm not getting payed, Owen's not
getting paid, none of the speakers are being paid (hope they realise
that!) so we can afford to waive any entrance fee for the event. It
won't cost you a penny to come! Now, you've no excuse to go!
All it will be is a series of talks, as described in the previous
mail/web page. Boole 3 is big but I don't see how we could have stalls
in there :P
Hacker stuff is going to be Linux orientated, you won't learn anything
deep and meaningful probably but you will get a flavour of the
atmosphere and energy/enthusiasm most of us have for technology.
Time to update that page again..
