[CLUG] Talk with Red Hat

[CLUG] Talk with Red Hat

I met with David Owens last night. He's setting up the European
financial operations centre for Red Hat here in Cork. At the moment
they're at the "moving in furniture, and no branded stationary" stage so
things could take a while to settle down.
There are executives flying out from the States next week but they're
all business guys and I doubt they'd have time to meet any of us.
There's a techie coming out to install Linux on their boxes as well but
again he'll be on a flying visit too.

Exciting plans ahead though. Red Hat may well open a tech support centre
in Cork in about a years' time using 1800 numbers, so if you know any
college students tell them to brush up on their Unix skills..

Hopefully David will be able to get a Red Hat stand over from the UK in
time for LAID as well so there'll be a nice stand at LAID :)

David will be at our meeting tonight in the Metropole at 8pm so make
sure you're there if you can!

Donncha.
