[CLUG] Proxy Server

Ok.

Now that the third year exams are over I have started my Work placement.

This is a great opertunity for me to infect the place with linux :-)`

What I'm trying to do is set up one of the old P60's to act as a web proxy.

    I have installed SuSe 6.2 and Squid V 2.0.PATCH2

I can ping the machine on the network no problem and it is working for all the sites on the WAN

The next task that I have to preform is as follows

When a website is required from the internet the linux box will auto dial into Oceanfree ( Or whatever) and grab the required page and then drop the line after a set period.

I started by recompiling the kernel for PPP Support

Where do I go from here. I have made a guess that I should be using diald for this but dont know where to start

Regards
