What exactly is Netscape saying to you? Are you _sure_ your connection
is working properly? Try browsing to a site using lynx. eg "lynx
http://www.linux.ie"
- Ronan
Question. What Is LYNX??
The error message that I keep getting is as follows :-
First message box,
Netscape is unable to locate the server http://www.linux.ie
Please check the server nameand try again.
OK.
second message box,
Warning: the following hosts are unknown
home.netscape.com
home6.netscape.com
internic.net
this means that some or all hosts will be unreachable.
Perhaps there is a problem with your name server?
If your site must use a non-root name server, you will need to set up the $socks_ns
enviroment variableto point at the appropiate name server. It may (or may not)be necessary to set this variable, or the socks host prefrance,
to the IP address of the host in question rather than it's name.
Consult your system administrator.
Now the worst thing of it all is that I am My system administrator!!!
Thanks for any help that you may be able to offer.
Kevin B ;-)
