No, this isn't Larry Gogan on 2FM ;)
I just got off the phone with Maeve Hart at Harry Walsh Associates Ltd
who are "Technical & Executive Recruiters" here in Cork. She would like
to make the people who frequent the *.linux.ie sites more aware of jobs
on offer in the Unix/related markets.
It became obvious that mailing the list with job offers would be a no-no
as they specialise in matching particular people to particular jobs.
Then again, maybe it's not a no-no?
My first thought would be to have a jobs link on www.linux.ie and/or
cork.linux.ie with a sample of jobs available and some contact email
address for the recruitment agency. She offered to send a sample every 2
weeks to someone who could maintain the page. If we go down this route
we should list all the other recruitment agencies as well and/or have a
strong disclaimer, "let the buyer beware" or similar. In this kind of
situation (as with everything), we can't go looking for agencies.
They'll have to come to us for inclusion.
ideas? objections?
Donncha.
