Alas. LISTSERV (new version) lets you configure a list to reject mails
with attachments (with or without telling the sender :-), or let
through specific MIME types. I just set all my LISTSERV lists to drop
the whole message silently on the floor at the first sign of an
attachment, and that includes assholes who post plaintext messages as
MIME attachments with no plaintext body-part :-) Pity it's not open
source like it used to be...
