Collaborate - Inaugural Conference
The availability of suitably qualified and trained graduates is becoming
an
issue of critical importance to firms in the software sector. In
recognition of this the Collaborate Programme has been formed as a
partnership between the 3rd level colleges and local indigenous software
companies. As part of this a free inaugural conference Collaborate -
Expose Corks Talent will take place on the 6th March, in Jurys Hotel,
from
4pm to 7pm. The conference will be an opportunity to meet with the
people
who own and work in the software companies and to discuss first hand
with
them the issues and opportunities that are available, from
placements/co-ops
and research projects to employment opportunities.
The primary objective of the conference will be to raise the profile of
local software companies among yourselves and to improve student
placements
and extend joint work programmes, as such its open to all students in
Software and related areas in all years of the course. The conference
will
run from 4pm until 7pm and during this time it is envisaged that there
will
be ample time to liaise with representatives of the companies.
Refreshments
will also be supplied due to the kind support of Murphys Brewery.
NB the Refreshments :-)
