This is because Eircom is still run by civil service dickhead
accountants who see a man with a van and a screwdriver and are
convinced it has to be charged. The concept of free installation and
making money from traffic has never occurred to them.
Wait a few weeks until BT gets off its butt here. There is going to be
one almighty telecom war, and I for one hope Eircom gets eaten for
breakfast.
