Smartest thing ESR has said in years....

The Gnome and KDE open-source organizations are working to bring interface
guidelines to Linux, but "the people who develop applications in Linux
maintain control over the GUI for their app," Raymond said. This
independence creates inconsistencies throughout the Linux environment. He
believes the Linux community should use Apple's UI guidelines as a starting
point for a consistent Linux GUI.
