I've had this problem for a while now, and its kept me from getting into linux in a big way.
I'm using a Matrox graphics card (MGA-G200 AGP), and currently running redhat 6.0
Whenever I try to setup X-windows (using either XConfigurator or XF86Setup) it detects the card ok, but then cannot connect to X-windows using it. When using XF86Setup, it gives error 111 (I think), and when using XConfigurator the screen just goes blank. I've tried reinstalling, and even tried to install a version of Corel, but just got the blank screen again on install. I'm having to run x using VGA in 640 x 480, so its pretty ugly.
Is there anything I can do without changing the card?
I was going to get redhat 6.2, but I didn't want to just waste money if I get the same problem again.
Any suggestions?
