I just rejected two emails from a person who wanted to advertise a job
vacancy.
There have been job adverts on the ILUG list, but they've mostly been
placed by people who frequent the list. This email was sent by a
non-subscriber which is bad enough (abuse the list without contribuing
back), but he also committed the two cardinal sins of mailing
lists/email:
1. Sending the email in HTML format.
2. Sending an attachment to the list. What's worse, it was a Word
document..
I'm BCCing this to the offending party as well.
If you want to advertise a position in your company please make it short
and sweet. We don't want to know all about your company history, etc.
Explain in plain text the job position and any benefits and
responsibilities.
Oh, and any job-advert mails from non-subscribers will be rejected.
Donncha.
