Seems monday afternoon is the last day we have to get some sort of an
ad
in computerscope & PC live for next month. Can anyone that still has
people to contact do so, so we have a number of people to put in the ad
?
We are still looking for confirmation on:
Business talk from someone in Compaq (Padraig Brady mentioned he was
going to look into this)
Business talk from someone in IBM (I'm looking into this)
We would *like*
Business talk from someone in HP on their Linux strategy - anyone
work there ?
On the tech side, I've still no word from the maybe in SuSE/XFree86
head,
no confirmations from anyone actually, so there are at least two speaker
slots free. If you know interesting people you have mailed during the
years, give them a shout, and see if they are interested in coming over
to
entertain ILUG in exchange for some free flights & a hotel room. I think
Liam Bedford said he had some ideas...
Also, we are still looking for sponsors for the event. People, contact
your companies, and point out it's a great way of getting some ILUG
exposure (what better way to recruit good techies!).
At the moment, it's looking like a "free entry" on both days, if we can
get sufficent sponsors, as well as some free stuff.
