I think most of the cheap modems are winmodems. I made the mistake a
month back of buying a Trust modem from Compustore and discovered it was
a winmodem when I took it home. Fortunately I extracted the promise of a
refund if it wasn't suitable so I returned it.
I wish they would just say on the box. It would save me finding a modem
I like, and looking it up on this website before going back to buy it.
