If anybody wants ISOs for the above, I'll be in Cork on Saturday. Have to
say it works really well. Downloaded and installed it last night and have
been using it since with no problems.
The root console built in to the Mandrake Control Center was a major surprise,
and Konqueror is looking much better on the functionality side... it does seem
to have a few issues though with things that worked fine in the previous
release, so if you depend on Konqueror, I'd give it a miss until it's updated.
All in all though it's got a nicer feel to it, and definitely works better
than my previous really impatient attempt at installing KDE 2.2 on Mandrake
(rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps *.rpm).
As for Gnome 1.4 I can't say enough good things about this...
Anyway, coffee time. If you want the ISOs on Saturday, mail me back before
Thursday 7pm. And bring £1.50 to cover the cost of the two CDs. Or you can
buy me a pint ;)
