What I really need is something that protects the modem from the phone
line. The fuses in the house tripped before any equipment was damaged
but there's no fuse on the phone line coming into the house :(
As it is/was an internal modem it could have been a lot worse, picture
the sight of burning plastic falling on the graphics card, or bits of
shrapnel from an exploding modem embedded in the CPU or memory.. ;)
