Partition Magic has problems with ext2 unfortunately ! ! !
Excerpt from PQ site: http://www.powerquest.com/support/pm-faqt.html
I resized my Linux Ext2 partition with PartitionMagic. Now when the system
boots I only see <LI>, and it hangs. Why is this happening and how can it
be fixed?
The Linux operating system contains disk partition names and numbers
embedded in several places in the operating system. If its LILO boot loader
program is also used, it contains embedded disk sector information as well.
Sometimes, after creating or deleting a partition on a system on a drive
that contains a Linux partition, or after moving or copying a partition
using DriveCopy or PartitionMagic, the copy of Linux on the drive may no
longer boot. (This may include partitions you have manipulated with
PartitionMagic 4.)
To restore Linux, please see PowerQuest Knowledge Base Document #pm1028.
Regards,
James.

Subject: [CLUG] Odd boot failure on new install of RH6.2
A colleague just installed RH 6.2, having defragged her 20Gb Windows
installation and used Partition Magic to truncate it and create a new
partition for Linux. All went well, but on reboot, it displays:
LI
and hangs. Obviously it is picking up the start of LILO, correctly,
but then something is going wrong. Any clues?
