Ages ago.. around the time of the Dark Ages, I had to use Win95 at work.
I investigated that stuff and ran the bash shell for a while. Proved to
be very unstable. Press CTRL-C while running a Perl script and Win95 had
to be restarted. 
On a Win2000 or NT box it'd probably be a lot better.
