[CLUG] Network appliance style PCs for sale?

Adam,
No such thing as fan-less systems unless you go liquid-cooled(for people who
don't worry about money!), but you could buy quiet-kits for the system which
help to reduce noise(these can be a tad expensive).

I know the Dell Optiplex GX110 Small Form Factor is a nice quiet system with
2 PCI available via Riser.
It has a slim-line CDROM/DVD & ethernet on-board(3c905-C TX)

Gearoid Griffin? You are a wee expert on this stuff, aren't you? What was
the website you bought from?

Even try to buy a second hand Dell or Compaq (large OEM's need to comply to
higher noise emmissions standards{due to selling to corporate customers}
than the fly-by-night Joe bloggs computer Shop). I saw a 2nd Hand Dell in
the window on Digilog in Washington St. a week ago, if that is of help!

James.

Subject: [CLUG] Network appliance style PCs for sale?

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a bare-bones PC in a video
recorder style casing which is fanless? I'm looking for something to
replace a noisy p133 which I'm currently using as a router. As such it
needs to have a spare PCI slot to stick the ISDN card in, a CDROM (to
install Linux) and an ethernet port.

Thanks
