Yes, it is open to anyone, just go to
http://www.linux.ie/mailman/listinfo/cork/ and sign up there. Send email
to cork at linux.ie to post. I'd advise buying a good book on Linux first
though to give you a grounding in the basics. "Running Linux" by
O'Reilly is good I'm told.. The list will probably help but nobody will
hold your hand unless you research stuff yourself.
Books should be available in Micromail in Cork or online.
