I don't know about KDE, but Mandrake seems to install a lot more stuff
than it should. I'm still finding packages to "rpm -e" that I've never
even heard of before. There's a lot of redundancy there too with umpteen
front-ends and apps being installed for doing exactly the same stuff;
e.g. irc clients, calculators, floppy formatters, mkisofs frontends,
HTML editors etc.
