They changed servers a few days ago and I hit this immediately.
I bitched about it on boards.ie and called them (as did lots of
people, I think) and they seem to have fixed it.

If you were using a chat script that tested for incoming text,
delete the expect/answer pairs so that the last line says
'CONNECT' ''

If not, then I don't know the answer: my system never got as far
as sending LCP because it was still waiting for the tokens
"UTV Internet", "Login".

Have you tried calling UTVip and asking? They're quite good.
