The Palm Vx has been replaced by the m500 & m505. They're pretty
much the same except for minor tweaks - PalmOS 4.0, USB cradle and
having a slot to put a flash card into. The m505 version is colour and
looks like it's being replaced by an m515 soon.
Handspring & Sony also do PalmOS devices which also have their own neat
features. Handspring has something called a Treo which is a Palm/GSM
phone hybrid and looks really nice, as well as counterparts to the Palm
range. I think some Sony models can play music, take pictures and other
silliness but cost a lot and use proprietary Sony crap like memory stick.
I have to say my Palm Vx is one of the most useful gadgets I've bought.
It's not exactly powerful by PocketPC standards, but then it doesn't hog
batteries or cost a bomb. It actually does what it's supposed to -
organize - and does so very well.
