Irish MEP Patricia McKenna was among a group of EU parliament members to
"liberate" their computers this week by installing the open source operating
system Linux. Member states and the European Commission should renounce the
introduction of software patents and instead promote the use of free and
open source software, according to the organisers of the Open source - Open
mind - Open Europe event in the EU parliament.
