that's excellent Donncha! i've just noticed similar stuff being said
on Mandrake bugzilla, but the instructions aren't as complete as that
IRC chat.

mandrakeusers.org is in a bit of confusion about the whole issue as
well - veering from ndiswrapper solutions to to recompiling your own
kernel - in other words , a lot of guesswork and false trails. this
solution looks promising.
