Supporting Netware legacy infrastructure.
It took years for Netware admins to get it all running and they are
loath to rip & replace it, so they trudge onwards. You'd be shocked at
what companies are still using Netware at the core of their business
and are even still running entire networks with IPX too.
When you think about it Novell and Banyan owned the corporate
networking market top to bottom, and they lost it all because
Microsoft, of all people, did a better job.
Yes, it still took them until late 2000 to actually ship the directory
server the promised back when dirt was young. But still...
