Fixed. Turns out bleedin' redhat-config-network rewrites *everything*
when you make a change to *anything*. So adding eth1 rewrote all over
my nicely-written chat script with its own dumbass version. Serves me
right for trusting a GUI when all it needed was an ifcfg-eth1 adding.

(I wonder is there any chance FC3 does it right? :-)
