The /bill/ has been thrown out, but part of the point of the bill was to
create a clear position on software and process patents in Europe, because
the current position is murky at best. Software and process patents aren't
outlawed at present, in fact many patents that have been registered describe
software or processes; they just haven't been litigated, because thus far it
hasn't been worth the money or the hassle. The tossing aside of the bill
could (and has, and will continue to) be considered a win for FOSS
advocates, and I have no major argument with that, however I'd consider a
/real/ win to be legislation that outlaws software and process patents
altogether.

I hope you don't mind, I've move the page you created to "FOSS Advocacy",
since it's not just about politicians, it's also about business leaders (and
the organisations that represent them in particular), tackling lobbyists,
and tackling politicians themselves that are serving the interests of their
donators rather than listening to their constituents or bettors (on this
subject). It now appears on the front page.
