Just thinking about Adam's mail that started this thread - does it have to 
be a web based interface? (there may well be good reasons from previous 
thread which I didn't read). Putting total control of your external 
security through a web interface always makes me uneasy. It would have to 
safe guard its self to stop people accessing it across a network without 
your approval. So in other words - you screw up a rule (not hard for a 
person using a new interface) and you could be exposed. Where as if it's a 
local X based application, screwing up your rules won't have quite the 
potential repercussions. Of course you may want to use it on remote 
machines, which can be done through SSH. Then also no need for a web 
server to be running. Has anyone considered Python GTK?
