[CLUG] multiplatform autorun cd

[CLUG] multiplatform autorun cd

Peter Flynn peter at silmaril.ie
Mon Oct 3 23:15:37 IST 2005

Is it possible to write a CD that will autostart under Linux, Mac (OS/X)
and Windows (XP/NT/2000) by opening a specified HTML file in the default
browser? I know how to do this in Windows (I even wrote a little program
to do it once), but the only doc I can find about doing it on Macs seems
to be very dated (refers to the need to maintain parallel directories of
Mac and Windows files, which must surely date back to the days before it
migrated to Unix); and the only doc I can find about autorun on Linux is
about how to set up your system to autorun CDs, not about how to write
the CDs themselves in the first place. I am assuming throughout that the
user has autorun enabled, and there is no requirement to support OS/9 or
Windows 95, 98, or Me.
