Someone I know asked me if I knew anyone that could perform the following.
To that end I said that I would ask around. I am not affiliated with the
company or the person, so I will be unable to answer any questions if the
information is not in this email. Based on a phone call I wrote this list
of requirements, which may be incomplete, but will cover the major points
anyway.
C or C++ development of a telephony application utilizing
FreeSWITCH.orgcommunications platform on linux
MySQL integration
libcurl ability (soap or some other similar technology to send info and get
a response)
XML is likely (soap for example)
Fundamental understanding of SIP & SDP (not absolutely critical but quite
helpful)
contact david at teramesh.com if you are interested. pay rate negotiable.
Description of the project:
2-3 week project, work at home for a US company (contact is -5 hours, but
generally available much of the time). This is to develop ver1 of the
software, which if its liked by customers can turn into more work expanding
the project.
Gotta have inet and probably SVN (maybe CVS I dont know what they use).
The application will basically be for a 'callback' service with a couple of
twists. The likely interface with FreeSWITCH is via 'event socket' (a
FreeSWITCH tcp protocol, similar to http) which a clever person should be
able to understand within a day (an example can be provided that uses this
interface to make it easier, since the client lib is not yet finished).
if you dont know libcurl, you should be able to learn what you need within
10 minutes, its amazingly simple. If you cant you may not be right for this
position.
MySQL will be to at least fetch records, likely delete/update them as well.
MySQL isnt hard but there are quirks about how it works that you should be
familiar with to avoid lengthy delays in the development cycle.
It would be prefered to have someone with prior FreeSWITCH experience,
however that is not required. The interface that you would be using isnt
that complex.
I think that is about everything I was told about this position. Hopefully
someone finds this interesting enough to inquire :)
