[CLUG] Increasing the activity level of CLUG?

[CLUG] Increasing the activity level of CLUG?

I'm a newbie around these parts so don't flame me if this upsets the apple
cart... ;)

One of the promises I made myself when I moved to Cork, was that I would get
involved in local IT groups so I can keep my skills honed and contribute to
the local scene... So far it seems quiet (but then I have been living in the
big smoke for too long).

I would like to propose the following:

   - Update and maintain the CLUG website (the last update appears to be
from 2004!). Does anyone have the details for the site / who maintains it?
   - Have regular meetups (social, technical, Q&A, visiting speaker, etc).
This works really well for the SAGE IE group in Dublin and the talks have
been good. The Q&A sessions could potentially help some of the newer linux
users get up and running and allow us to create links with the UCC Netsoc
which appears to be somewhat active (but lacking a webiste)...

The mailing list appears to be working well in the short time I've been
subscribed (I apologise for increasing the emails/day ratio above 1).

Thoughts?

Donal
