Thanks Ronan,
The bottom line is that with ip_forwarding on
I see 'No buffer space available' errors and I get
problems with IMAP server and ssh 

Any help to debug ?

Well, if you want to have ip_forwarding on, erm, yes, in a sense it is. 
Though I must admit I've never seen (in this scenario) arp growing to such 
a size as to cause this kind of problem.
