I've copied and pasted the description below. The position would be
based at our new offices at Cork Airport business Park. Knowledge of
KVM and virtualisation wouldn't do any harm either even though it's
not mentioned below.

Systems Administrator Position

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a young, rapidly expanding
company. You will be joining a highly motivated and experienced team
using next generation software development methods. The role is
challenging as well as rewarding. You will gain invaluable experience
as Newsweaver's technology platform is built on state-of-the-art
software and techniques. The position is based in Cork at the Airport
Business Park. The salary is competitive and will be commensurate with
experience.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibility of the role is to manage the continued smooth
operation and maintenance of the Newsweaver System.

The production system is hosted on an array of servers located in data
centre in London and remotely managed. The servers run Linux and use
technologies such as MySQL, Tomcat, Apache and Java.

Systems operation of Newsweaver’s email software platform in
compliance with Customer SLA’s;

Ensure system security;

Maintaining day-to-day corporate network with redundant Internet connections;

Troubleshooting both hardware & software issues;

Produce documentation on operation of system;

Deal effectively with suppliers/third parties, e.g., Domain Name Registrars.



Person Specification & Qualifications



The ideal candidate will...



Hold a degree or recognised engineering qualification;

3-5 years experience in a similar role;

Deep Knowledge of email servers and there operations;

In-depth knowledge of IP networks, routing, switching, firewalling,
QoS (CCNA or higher/similar qualification is preferred);
In-depth knowledge of Linux administration and maintenance (RHCE or
higher qualification is preferred);

Extensive Networking Knowledge (Routers, Firewalls, Switches, DNS etc.);

Ability to solve complex problems under pressure;

Application Deployment (RPM, CF Engine);

Experience Operating Production Web Servers (Apache and Tomcat);

Analyzing and Controlling Security Risks;

Email Software (Postfix and other as required);

Scripting Languages (Ruby, Bash)

Monitoring software (Zabbix)

Configuring and Managing VPN’s

Configuring switches and Load Balancers

Networking

Storage (NAS based with NFS)



They will relish the opportunity for personal growth and development
and will demonstrate the apropriate energy, drive and commitment to
achieve this. Experience of SAAS or email-marketing solutions would be
a distinct advantage, though not essential.
