I just tried to run nsgmls (the de facto standard in SGML parsers)
under RH5.2 using the downloadable binary. It died saying it can't
find libc.so.4 and sure enough there's no such file.
Is this a version problem, or has someone been tampering with the
standards again :-)
The laptop problem is now moot, it won't boot at all, won't even go
past the POST, saying just that the hard disk has an invalid boot
sector.
