The list management software watches out for bounces and disables (not
unsubscribes) addresses which bounce. Either 5 days of transient
delivery failures, or six consecutive bounces, cause an address to be
disabled. It's still on the list, though, and can be re-enabled by
visiting http://www.linux.ie/mailman/options/ilug/your-email-address

This is correct behaviour. The previous setup was incorrect. Re:
should always be the first thing in the Subject: line.

Yes. I consider it better that mail is sent to "fewer people than
intended" by accident rather than "more people than intended". It's
trivial to type "ilug at linux.ie" into the To: line when sending a
message.
