ok then, i have booked two rooms (just in case), for saturday 24th
april, from 1pm until 5pm. The rooms for the ul heads are A1054 and
A1055, seating 20 and 50. No complaints on the rooms, its pretty much
all they have due to weekend tutorials. I don't actually know the rooms
myself :-), so we'll have to check them out.
I suggest that an initial meet is made in the stables student bar at 1pmish
until 2 ?, and then we'll guide you to the rooms. A volunteer will be found to
put up some signs as well.
We'll dig around for a map or draw a crude little one for finding the stables,
which should be pretty easy, just follow the beer smell. Any problems/q's ?
Stuff to talk about might include
Trade show enthusiatics ?
t-shirts organisation ?
Random assults of folk who might not have paid for their stickers/penguins etc?
What to do with IUUG money, find money overseer ?
Cool gizmo demonstrations ?, i just got a set of mindstorms lego, id love if
someone brought down some ubercool thing that they built out if it :-)
Getting the sca on things like
{
is iona going to roll out a linux orbix?,
whats the skinny on telecoms adsl/flat rate
just who has the biggest beer belly
who has got the most outrageous unbelieveable story about how they built they're
own cray from a matchbox and sticky tape.
}
Distribution folk are to be banished to the small room on the mere
mention of it :-)
I suppose we could do some little talks on some of the stuff airlie, myself
have written, but its hard to know if theres any interest in that kind of thing.
It would probably be a very good idea if those who were going to arrive for sure
would mail f2f at csn.ul.ie so as to give us an idea of who's coming. So as to work
out some numbers, also maybe an idea of their departure time (if any) to see
about doing something in the evening. If only to see what size pub we need :-).
Any maybe most importantly what issues they want {on the agenda|to waffle about}
so that we don't run overtime and leave anything interesting out. or spend 1 hr
talking about the merits of debian vs redhat vs slackware vs "rolled my own out
of tinfoil and smoked it".
We'll put these details on some sort of a webpage for your perusal, once we get
some replies.
This all sound reasonable ?. What do you want out of a f2f.
