Funny i use vi as my programming, and general knocking about editor.
Never really got into the whole emacs thing. vi was very handy when i
was stuck with an infinitely slow connection during coop, i found it
much easier to type far into the future with it. And the habit stuck, 
of course the other reason is that the references pages for vi were 
before the ones for emacs on the first unix references pages i got.
