[ILUG] Network Neighbourhood off a Linux box

[ILUG] Network Neighbourhood off a Linux box

Samba is pretty easy to configure as long as you are running RedHat or SuSE
I currently have 4 Linux servers Masquerading as NT servers.
All settings can be set by editing the smb.conf file in /etc .
In Slackware this file is rather complicated but it give plenty of options
and detailed information on the different features.
One point to note is that you must either configure samba as a WINS server
or point it towards an existing one and once this is done you can map to the
shares like they were any other NT share.

Regards
Robert Sweetnam
