As an aside, is anyone wary of the governments continual "100 new jobs
in IT firm" announcements that end in "the jobs will be brought onstream
over a four year period"?
(a la this mornings Informix announcement)

Appologies for being off topic....(non-Linux)
Well it makes them sound good. Ultimately all politicians want to get reelected
so anything that makes them sound good is in, even if it sin't exactely
brilliant or immediate. 4 years is a long way down the line.

Personally I was just noticing how the journalist on INN practically
regurgitated the press release. I mean, how are the general public supposed to
know what 'Data Warehousing' is? No explanation was given. Hell your average
Joe Soap might have just about heard of Informix. The report was pointless
IMHO and could have been summed up in a single sentance with words like "100
jobs over next 4 years" "Informix" "Dublin".
