Yes. I use emacs for extended editing of code, or for writing text
(email, letters, HTML, LaTeX etc.), and vi for quick edits to
configuration files or code.
It's not generally a question of "do you use emacs or vi?", but rather
"do you use (just vi) or (vi and emacs)?" Vi is pretty much necessary
when you're a sysadmin...
