Hmm insmod 3c59x.o ?? that's as much as I know.. re-compile the kernel
with 3c590/900 support or module and it should work .. 

maybe an 
alias eth0 3c59x 
in your /etc/conf.modules or modules.conf whichever SuSE use ..
