> Virtual desktops.
isn't there a pager for openlook? i had one when i used openlook on linux.
Even so, imo virtual desktops still doesn't make up for the ugliness.
Just imagine that everybody who's been introduced to *nix in the last few
years, via D-Unix, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, has had to see CDE.. no wonder unix
got a bad name.
On the other hand, when i was in uni, the unix machines were the preffered
machines - irregardless of whether you were an eng or and arts student -
because of OpenLook and the Irix wm (4DWM?). The win3.11, wfw, and (later)
Win95 machines were shunned.
first impressions count, and i can imagine that CDE scared a lot of people
away.
