bad comparison. GLX is very protocol heavy without display lists.

load of rubbish cause it's rare for more than one client to be active at any
instant. (how many progs can you use at the same time?).
but it would be useful for certain things, eg the grid in gnome minesweeper
takes a long time to update when you click on the icon for a new game.
