[ILUG] short Qs

[ILUG] short Qs

Firestart kanall at tinet.ie
Sun Aug 8 20:18:57 IST 1999

just a few short Questions i had on my mind:

Im running RH6.0 and as most of you know you get [ OK ] and [ FAILED ]
messages for various startup services.I have no modules installed in my
kernel at all,but i have enabled loadable module support, but when i boot
RH6 still expects me to have sound modules, whereas i have sound fully
compiled.
so i get 3 annoying [ FAILED ] messages,so basicly: how do i make fsck (is
this a fsck issue?) not expect me to have sound as a module?

also sendmail is taking a very long time to load on bootup (about
3-4 minutes) is their any tweaking i can do that will speed it up?

hmmmm,i was sure i had some more small things bothering me but i forget at
the moment,im sure it'll come back to me,and i wont be able to check my
email ontill next weekend so i should remember the rest by then.
so thanks in advance :)
