[ILUG] Athlon

[ILUG] Athlon

Niall O Broin nobroin at sced.esoc.esa.de

I just got the latest fax mailing from my bits and pieces supplier and I see
that the Athlon is now available. I'm sorely tempted, but they only mention one
motherboard with Athlon support, the MSI 6167. Anyone familiar with MSI ? I've
bought nothing but ASUS boards for years and I'm loath to change, especially to
an unknown (to me) quantity.

Kindest regards,

P.S. People are bound to ask, so here's the pricing (IEP, excluding VAT)

Speed	Athlon	P-III

500	194.76	320.56
550	350.40	514.11
600	479.44	518.15
650	672.98	N/A

The MSI 6167 motherboard costs 116.50, and a K6 III 450 has now dropped to 116.
Hell of a price jump from 500 MHz to 650 MHz !
