[ILUG] Apache access question

[ILUG] Apache access question

linux user linuxuser at ireland.com

Just a quick question about Apache.

Installed RH6 (BTW fair play for actually putting GNOME on it this time RH) and the apache version is 1.3 so I have used apache before and thought no problem.

Righty everthings cool vhost are working nicely and all that I am a happy little camper I thought. Until the access started to go funny.
I thought I could deny all access to everybody except for ip's which I specify. But It's not working for me.

My access.conf would look something like this

<Directory /www/site>
order allow,deny
deny from all
allow from 194.194.194.*
allow from 127.0.0.1
allow from 18.18.18.18
allow from 195.106.100.*
</Directory>
(Ip's are made up)

Can somebody tell me if this is right and if not how would I correct the problem. mod_Access is loaded etc etc and I know I think it looks right from reading the new docs and stuff but is it. It's quite urgent unfortuantly as well

Thanks
Larry O'Neil
