Indeed; however, emacs was bloated before he X-ified it...anyway, it seems
he's only doing some interface work, and offering advice...things like
"thou shalt not use anything but the unix mbox (and your own index files,
if you must)", and "thou shalt not rewrite mail headers (but you can add
your own)".
Netscape 1 for X wasn't bloated at all. It didn't really start to bloat
until 3.x.
