[ILUG] Mandrake disappearing network card

[ILUG] Mandrake disappearing network card

Brendan Farrell brendan.farrell at tellabs.com

Hi !

I was running SuSE 6.0 and win98 (games), all was well in the world, along
came Mandrake 6.0, the installation was wonderfully easy, except that my
3Com 509B is refusing to talk.
Mandrake thinks that it is working, but I cannot ping my girlyfriends PC,
my hub doesn't even show a green light for the Linux box. If I reboot into
win98 the card is recognised by the hub and full functionality is restored.

I was wondering about PnP but I have made no hardware or bios changes since
SuSE 6.0

Any Ideas ???

Rgds.
   Brendan
